Review: Beyond Beauty Diamond Peel Back Treatment from Groupon

Hi all!

I did mention in my first blogpost that I've bought a groupon for $18 in exchange for a Diamond Peel Back Treatment at Beyond Beauty. (Click here for blogpost) I have made a appointment on Wednesday but there seemed to be some misunderstanding and my appointment was booked at Thursday. =.=

So off I went to Beyond Beauty for the treatment. Firstly I was to fill up a particular form and then ushered into a room where I would be doing the treatment.

Pictures of the room~
Though small, but it's cozy

I was told to take off my top and lie onto the bed, face facing downwards while they(the beautician & the consultant) took a look at my back skin condition. They asked me if I wanted to upgrade to treatment mask which cost $88. I declined. Then, they went on to analyse my back and asked if I wanted to blah blah blah... To be truthful, I'm still lying with my face downwards, it's really hard to listen and reply! To make matters worse, I'm half naked! I don't think they should ask me such questions when I'm in such a situation. I politely declined and say I just wanted to try the basic groupon services before I decide on whether to take up a package. To my surprise, they didn't really get pissed off but politely and cheerfully (judging from tone of voice) accepted my decision.

The procedure indicated at groupon was:

  • cleansing (cleansing seemed rather slipshod, i felt some swaps of wet cottons sweeping over my back)
  • steaming (oh man... i didn't realized that there's this step included! I didn't experience this!)
  • diamond peel or full extraction (I got diamond peel & some extraction <not painful at all, the diamond peel just feel like some suction pad is vacuuming your dead skin away>)
  • high frequency blemish treatment (I don't rmb this phase too...)
  • back & shoulder massage (As I've extraction, it is not recommenced to have massage.)
  • purifying/smoothing/detoxifying mask (I've a soothing mask to clam the redness <very cold upon first application, then it's okie afterwards> & another mask.)

After the whole session, I check my back, it appears to be smooth and my scars have lightened quite a bit! So despite the session being not so ideal from the what I've imagined. The results is always the most important!

 This is my BEFORE pictures:

After my treatment, of course I was brought to a consultation room to talk about signing on a package. And did i sign? Yeah... *nods head* Actually, it was a spur of a moment thing? You know when you are like "this  treatment seemed not bad, I shall give it a try" to "YES! I should give it a try!" to "Since I'm already trying, might as well see to it that the treatment included value-added stuff to boast its treatment strength!" Hence, leading me to buy the following products... =.=||

A aloe vera gel & 10 ampoules
Actually, I was reluctant to buy the ampoules as they cost freaking expensive! I wanted to like buy 5 bottles only, but they key in 10 bottles as buying 5 bottles only do not entitle me to a discount. I was having like o.O expression as I've already used half a bottle during my treatment and they have key into the machine and such. Since it's already like that, I can only think on the bright side that this treatment MUST improve my skin condition since it cost so so so much! If you want to know the exact price I pay, please email me at shiokanot@gmail.com.

Do not underestimate the price of this...

I have actually sign up for 3 more sessions of this Diamond Peel Back Treatment at Beyond Beauty. I intend to go every 2weeks plus. I will post the results of my back after the 3 sessions. Hope it would really improve my skin condition! *cross fingers*

  1. Hi there!
Were there good results of your treatment? Did you like the service you had when you used the groupon voucher?

  2. Hi! :)
I think the results is not bad, but it need lots of home care too. When I used the groupon voucher, there is a bit of hard-selling. But when I refuse firmly, they relented and proceed with the treatment.

  3. Hi, good for you that you had a good experience with them. As for me and for most ladies (if you try to search other reviews for Beyond Beauty), I would say we had TERRIBLE EXPERIENCES with Beyond Beauty.

    Let me share my experience...

Unfortunately, I am one of Beyond Beauty Groupon deal victims. It was a very big mistake on my part for not researching first before buying the Beyond Beauty Brazilian IPL Groupon. I shouldnt have trusted Beyond Beauty since I had a very bad experience with them in 2011 regarding booking massage appointment. They will always say that they are fully booked even if making the appointment a month before. And, once they hear that you are using "Groupon" their manner of service, tone of voice and availability for booking change.

Back to the Brazilian IPL Groupon, I went to Beyond Beauty at Scotts Rd. for my first session yesterday (Sept19). After the registration, they were convincing me to top up almost $800 to do an "overlap zap" and some additional treatments like whitening. I politely turned them down. Worried that I wont get a quality coverage of IPL, I clarified with them that if I dont top-up, will they still cover the whole brazilian area--they replied, "YES". However, I was so shocked when my IPL was over in less than 5mins! I also know that the lady didnt really cover the whole area because I can feel it. She was telling me that I should have topped up because it means that I only get about 25 "zaps" compared to 50 "zaps".

I didnt get mad at the people inside the place but deep inside I was so furious and ready to call and complain to Groupon about my experience. Little did I know that a lot of us feel the same thing about Beyond Beauty Brazilian IPL Groupon.

Anyways, I just got off the phone with Groupon Customer Service. I told them my experience and I also told them that I dont want a refund but I want a proper IPL service from Beyond Beauty. I also mentioned to them that there are a lot of customer complaints about this particular merchant in the internet. They said that they will do an investigation and will get back to me in a weeks time.

A Tonkichi Coupon deal worth $15 for an original $30 Hiro set does not mean you only get half portion of the meal. You still get the full set meal worth $30 but paid only $15 for it, right?

I urge all the ladies who bought the deal to do the same thing...DO NOT TOP-UP. DONT ASK FOR A REFUND EITHER. DEMAND FOR A PROPER FULL BRAZILIAN IPL COVERAGE.

I would like to call on all who feels the same way. Please email me at souza_angelica@yahoo.com and I would like to give a collective complaint to Groupon and other Deal sites about Beyond Beauty.

    Thank you.

  4. Beyond beauty offerings in groupon are joke! Scam scam scam! They did not make clear about the limitation like number of zaps for the IPL. They do hard selling that will make u cry because you will fight within yourself not to shout at the staff!!! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING IN GROUPON FROM THIS BEYOND BEAUTY.

  5. Bad experience. Bought their Groupon online. This company does not adhere to the terms and conditions mentioned online. They tell me things like "Not valid for 6 months, only valid for 2 months", "don't have steam bath" etc when all these are clearly stated online in the Groupon. BEWARE WHEN BUYING from this company.

Review: Lassie'el Eye Refresh Aqua Gel Patch

Bought 3 boxes of new eye masks from SASA and thus decided to use up Lassie'el Eye Refresh Aqua Gel Patch that I have bought beforehand. How it looks like It was the 1st time for me to try on a gel eye patch, so I was rather hopeful that it could improve my dark eye circles~ The estimated time to wear the patch is 30mins but I wore it for 1hour or so. (kiasu-ness) Haha... The back of the packaging  Bought it for $2.90 per pair. Currently, there's an offer in SASA, the 2nd pair of Lassie'el Eye Refresh Aqua Gel Patch at only $1~ *heart pain* Thickness of the gel eye patch Another pic of the eye patch I find this gel eye patch hard to place on my eye area as it breaks into small pieces rather easily. You need to have delicate hands, not like mine. =.=|| Also, it slips down my eye every now and then, thus i need to readjust the eye patch every-oh-so-often. I gave up sitting upright to surf the net and just lie down on my bed to play

Review: Laneige's Fresh Calming Series

I am back! I went on a long hiatus due to lots of commitment in my life! In these few years, time really flies! Tried so much stuff and went to many places that I feel like sharing with everyone. Laneige's latest skincare product - Fresh Calming series really caught my eye with their lovely peach hues bottles. I am a sucker for beautiful packaging. Furthermore, their plant-derived extract is from the lychee fruit, I am so in love with fruit-scented/fruit extract products. Hence, I got help to get the whole series bought from Lotte World in Korea. Now, I am always looking forward to getting my morning regime done! A far cry from the lazy me, who dread putting product after product after product on my face. Who is the same as me? Getting on to the products, first up is Laneige's fresh calming gel cleanser! I really like that the nozzle dispense just the right amount of gel cleanser for my face with one pump. A small ten-cent coin amount goes a long way with enough fo

Review: Hotel Christiania Zermatt

June holiday is here! Many Singaporeans may wish to choose Europe as one of their holiday destination due to the favorable euro currency rate. It seemed that some of the tour packages also include Switzerland as a destination stop. I've been such tour with ASA 2 years ago and I believe that one of the highlight during the trip was Hotel Christiania in Zermatt.  To prevent air pollution, Zermatt is a car-free town and relies on electric shuttles for commutation purposes. I sat on one electric shuttle (their version of taxi) and it costed around 20 to 25 Swiss-frank. The distance is only from the main train station to the hotel. (walk-able distance) I bought too many chocolates including a 1kg Toblerone thus bo bian (no choice) I sat the shuttle. But, the old couple that sat with me was very kind to treat me the "taxi" ride. (we belonged to the same tour group. )   The walkable distance from train station to hotel The hotel w red flowers on the balcony!
